Chivalry is not dead .

And just when I thought good looking men didn’t make you breakfast in bed, hold your handbag or even open the door for you…chivalry is clearly not dead . It’s also a bonus when your boy is a younger hotter version of the notorious George Cortina .

rocks markets, coco liberace and a taste of mykonos .

Strolling through the Rocks Markets, this little store caught my eye . Coco Liberace . I have a weaknesso for grecian inspired pieces with evil eyes and lapis charms…so naturally i veered in the direction of this store . Bec, the only store assistant to warmly greet us as we approached the store, had some beautiful pieces – one in particular caught my eye, a chunky gold statement necklace – of course i bought it!

Not to my surprise when I googled their website, this duo established their label in Mykonos…the exact place where my heart has remained for the last year . The catalyst for their inspiration is somewhat refreshing and veritably emulates the treasures you discover on the streets of Mykonos . the exact reason this label is so appealing .

Will definitely be visiting their stores again 🙂

Prior to leaving for Europe last year I was flipping through Vogue during Australian Fashion Week and turned straight to the ‘street style’ pages . There they were…these beautiful black Prada platform heels with gold hardware . I searched all over Rome without success, next stop was Venice . I had only just turned around to my sister and told her to not let me buy anything after the Chanel purchase when we conveniently stumbled across Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel, LV and more . We walked up to the shoe section of Prada and there they were, on sale, in both black and tan, the last pairs left in all of Europe…and in my size of course .
Obviously I bought them! 😉

Jumbos, classics and Chanel .

I was 19 years old when I first laid eyes on a red vintage Chanel bag and immediately fell in love . Sure I had been exposed to them earlier however I never actually cared, I only ever associated these premier labels with pretentious attitudes….this time however I wanted to discover the history behind it all and develop a true appreciation for them . I then spent every spare moment on the Chanel website browsing bags, accessories, shoes and then researching the genius behind it all, Gabrielle aka Coco Chanel . As sad as it may sound I’d just die at the sight of this bag . I eventually purchased a pair of ballet flats, yet still longed for the bag . After 4 years of drooling over this bag a found myself in the Rome store with the intention to purchase gumboots . I decided to ask how much the Classic Jumbo was…3400 euros she replied . In comparison to the $5690 price tag in Australia that was already tempting…but the thought of carrying this treasure everywhere over Europe made me hesitant . She asked if I wanted to look at the bag, even though I’d spent 4 years looking over every intricate detail of this bag I thought yeah why not! As I picked up the bag and glanced at it in the mirror i fell in love all over again . I placed the bag back on the counter and was about to walk away when the shop assistant reached for the bag…I immediately put my hand back on the bag and firmly said “I’ll take it” . I spent the rest of the day shaking with adrenalin .

this photo was taken post purchase as evident by the Chanel bag and giant grin on my face!

Strangely enough I now no longer possess the want or need for another one…I’m more focused on collecting Vintage YSL .

MCA clothing swap .

On Sunday the 22nd of July, my friend Gabi and I had the opportunity to attend a clothing swap hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) . prior to the event we had each dropped a few old clothes in which would allow us to grab some pieces when we returned . Although we arrived a little late to the event we managed to find a few things . Gabi found some vintage levi shorts and i scored these cool pyjama looking high-waisted pants which i will cut in to shorts . as a first in best dressed event of course there was some stiff competition to grab a beloved item first, we won some and we lost some and ended the day with some blueberry cheesecake and a stroll through the markets . smiles all round!
