Apologies for the lack of posts, feel free to dob J&i in to DOCS for child neglect!
On the flip side, proud to announce we have both scored internships! J with Repeat Button and myself with Willow .
moving along. FrouFrouu;
Nadia Sarwar . i discovered this blogger via instagram .
Self described as;
its quite evident from this description that she doesn’t create a ‘whimsical world’ of cupcakes, lollipops, macaroons and bullshit . What attracts me to Nadia’s blog is her unique style coinciding with her aptitude to capture a single moment insensible to most (a sound ability of j’s!). she successfully evokes emotion through a simple photograph conveying an unwritten story, one of which forces you to infinitely stare in order to put the pieces together . it makes you wonder what she is doing, where she is going and what she is thinking.
I am in awe of her long dark hair, fair skin, and dark lip tones . my attempt of a similar appearance would result in near resemblance to a withered sea witch… Her prodigal choice of clothing consists of simple individual pieces, yet, put together it’s just fucking amazing! can definitely envision her in a Balenciaga ad tailored for Russh Magazine!
She’s very Johnny Depp-esque…strange to some, but fucking cool! and obviously without the prominent bottle of whisky glued to her hand .
I tend to have random spurts of inspiration to post and in this case it’s because I have insomnia….my fault of course! note to self; stop napping after work to then wake up 6 hours later and then procrastinate in applying St Tropez fake tan. did i mention its 4:30am here in Australia!?
The weather is warming up fast and we’re starting to see the layers of clothes disappear – slowly being replaced by ripped shorts and flowy dresses . It’s even almost time to put the fake tan back in the cupboard and gladly replace it with natural sun kissed skin. I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming season and the trends it will bring .
It seems that throughout spring and summer we will see fabrics adorned with vivid colours, as well as soft neutrals and pastels – in particular, soft mint green has proved popular on the runway and on the likes of fashion icons such as Jessica Stein & Nicole Warne . We’re also seeing red as a prominent colour, lace and crochet tops, and not to mention floral prints still remain on the racks . I feel that when it does come to floral prints you need to be careful that you don’t end up looking like a flower threw up everywhere, my recommendation is to veer in the direction of Zimmermann, you can’t go wrong with their floral prints, they just utter perfection .

I spent 3 full days in Rome with the intention of sight seeing . No actually that’s a lie, I wanted to shop! I did attempt sight seeing, but I became bored and irritable at the exhausting heat that consumed Rome…and my make up!
After visiting the main attractions i.e. the colosseum, we detoured to the Via Condotti . Basically this is heaven for shopping; Chanel, Dior, Louboutin, YSL, Prada, Miu Miu and anything you could want in an arms reach – half of which is almost inaccessible or limited in Australia . I ended the day with a few more YSL rings, a large Louis Vuitton ‘never full’ bag and cosmetic case .
Despite my lack of interest at the time for the historical monuments around me Rome is a beautiful city . I’d love to go back and explore it more, actually walking in to the colosseum this time . And of course some more shopping wouldn’t hurt…besides you can never have enough YSL . or Louis . or Chanel . or maybe anything haha .
Strolling through the Rocks Markets, this little store caught my eye . Coco Liberace . I have a weaknesso for grecian inspired pieces with evil eyes and lapis charms…so naturally i veered in the direction of this store . Bec, the only store assistant to warmly greet us as we approached the store, had some beautiful pieces – one in particular caught my eye, a chunky gold statement necklace – of course i bought it!
Not to my surprise when I googled their website, this duo established their label in Mykonos…the exact place where my heart has remained for the last year . The catalyst for their inspiration is somewhat refreshing and veritably emulates the treasures you discover on the streets of Mykonos . the exact reason this label is so appealing .
after a prolonged absence and much galavanting around europe i’m finally back and lodged firmly in reality. many apologies for my lack of input. i was drunk. seriously. for 3 months.
travel always provides me with inspiration from the strangest sources: architecture, street fashion, stupid dress ups and my own travel lifestyle. taking prominent place this trip was surf culture. i learnt to surf (like a gimp) and suddenly all i wanted to do was sit on the beach, smoke ciggies & drink diet coke whilst perving on the boys. if i could do one thing for the rest of my life, that would be it.
as i made my way through spain, the south of portugal and france living the dream i remembered the australian classic – puberty blues. a critique of the surf lifestyle of the youth of south sydney in the early 80’s the novel/film captures the submissive role of the ‘female surfer’ and both challenges and perpetuates the status quo of women in this setting. if you haven’t seen the film, do yourself a favour and get it. the 1980’s version! not the cookie cutter, home & away bullshit due to be realeased next year.
apart from my internal argument about whether i am actually perpetuating or challenging the idea of ‘surfer girl’ i only have positive thoughts about puberty blues. i mean who the fuck wouldnt want to sit on the beach, get tanned, look at boys and occasionally have a surf. take me back to 1981… i’d happily take Debbie or Sue’s place.
Anyone who has been on a holiday to Europe will understand the feeling you get when you realise you only have a few days left until you’re due to return home again . This is one of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken, it’s like they say; a photo says 1000 words .

Prior to leaving for Europe last year I was flipping through Vogue during Australian Fashion Week and turned straight to the ‘street style’ pages . There they were…these beautiful black Prada platform heels with gold hardware . I searched all over Rome without success, next stop was Venice . I had only just turned around to my sister and told her to not let me buy anything after the Chanel purchase when we conveniently stumbled across Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel, LV and more . We walked up to the shoe section of Prada and there they were, on sale, in both black and tan, the last pairs left in all of Europe…and in my size of course .
Obviously I bought them! 😉

If you have made the assumption that I am obsessed with over-sized knitted sweaters then you stand correct . This particular one frequented my outfit choice as I sent home the warmer contents of my suitcase .
Paris; The city I fell in love with, contrary to populace experiences, I had the most amazing time. I stayed at Hotel Castille situated on Rue Cambon, conveniently right next door to the original Chanel store and her apartment – fantastic location and within close proximity to everything . A stunning symmetrical city with infinite culture and architecture , Paris will be seeing more of me very soon I hope!
